Location detection
Auto-fill a respondent's country, state, city, and timezone without asking them to type anything. The Location addon detects it client-side and writes a formatted value into a Short Answer or Long Answer field when the form is submitted.
Works on Short Answer and Long Answer fields. Add it from Field addons in the form customizer, then choose which parts (country, region, city, timezone, EU flag) to collect.
Key capabilities
- Pick any combination of: country code, country name, state/region code, state/region name, city, timezone, and an EU-member flag
- Live preview of the exact value that will be submitted, right in the customizer
- No extra consent prompt required — detection uses the same signals as standard web analytics
GDPR / CIPA
Location detection only derives coarse, non-precise signals (country/region/city-level, not GPS coordinates), the same class of data most analytics tools already collect. Review your own privacy policy before enabling it on forms that target regulated audiences.
Plan availability
Location detection is not available on the Hobby plan. It's included on Starter and Pro.
